Celebrate National Trails Day in Arvada! Get outdoors and move your feet, pedal your bike or just enjoy a day of appreciating the outdoors as you explore nature, participate in eco-friendly activities, learn about resource conservation, and experience some of Arvada’s 150 miles of wonderful hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails!

Start the day by jumping onto Arvada’s trails at 9am with a 5-mile Family Bike Ride or a 15-mile Recreational Bike Ride. Arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in, bike prep and meet ‘n’ greet at the Majestic View Park North Parking Lot (W. 72nd Ave just West of Carr St.) See what Arvada’s trails have to offer and discover the wildlife that lives among them. Parking will be available at both sites (Two Ponds parking at 80th and Kipling; Majestic View parking at 7030 Garrison St.).

Then, relax on a stroll down the trails to visit the many outdoor, nature and educational booths at both Two Ponds and Majestic View. And, with the 2018 Year of the Bird, everyone is encouraged to bring their binoculars and their eagle eyes to spot any feathered friends nearby as we enjoy many bird-themed games and nature activities. Majestic View will be participating in Big Year Jeffco and to encourage as many bird counts as possible throughout the year; you can register your bird counts at

Everyone can also experience the free family fun at Arvada Trail’s Day with:

  • $50 prize drawings toward local outdoor stores
  • Live Bird demonstrations and meet other animal friends from Nature’s Educators
  • Free refreshments, both tasty and healthy!
  • Kids’ games and activities
  • 9:30am Guided nature walks within both Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge and Majestic View Park. Dogs are not allowed.
  • Discover special photo spots, perfect for spotting birds or taking a great family photo

Bring sunscreen and walking shoes to celebrate Arvada’s trails and explore nature at Arvada’s Trails Day at both of Arvada’s premier nature areas.

Participate in all the fun activities at this festival produced by the City of Arvada Festivals Commission, Majestic View Nature Center, Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge, the Arvada Bike Advisory Group, and the Arvada Park Advisory Committee.

BFA 5 Trails Day Family and Rec Rides
The Family Ride will be a 4.5 mile ride on trails and bike friendly streets.  You will be on seldom uses trails and see places in Arvada that you never knew existed.
The Rec Ride is an 18 mile ride and has a new route this year.   You will be on bike friendly streets and follow the Van Bibber Creek, Blunn and Ralston Creek Trails.  There will be some great views as you head west to Long Lake before returning down hill.
